Ted von Pohle – Artistic Director
Ted von Pohle, a lover of words and music, has sung since he could talk. It’s that love affair with song that culminated in his passion for choral conducting. Beginning with piano and choir at age six, von Pohle continued private music studies in high school in voice and organ as well. Ted graduated from Pacific Union College in Angwin with a Bachelors in Music (vocal performance emphasis) and went on to earn his Masters in Music (choral conducting emphasis) from San José State University where he studied with Dr. Charlene Archibeque, and acted as Assistant Conductor of the international award-winning SJSU Choraliers. Mr. von Pohle has been a music educator for over 30 years spanning all levels of music from early classroom music through collegiate ensembles and classes. Currently, von Pohle is Music Director at Grace Episcopal Church in St. Helena, teaches private voice, and performs as a vocalist, organist, and collaborative pianist.
