Our Mission

“To create musical experiences to delight the heart and inspire the soul.”

Music and Our Community

Bel Canto has begun sharing a percentage of the Spring Concert proceeds with various non-profit organizations within the local community. Repertoire for these concerts represent thematically an element of the organization’s focus.

For example, Here the Hearth (Spring 2018) benefitted Abode Services a non-profit that helps local individuals and families, who have been displaced, to find housing. The repertoire reflected an expression of belonging. In Spring 2019, I Hear Music Overhead was a concert of songs all about birds and benefitted Napa Wildlife Rescue.

Other recent recipients:  Community Action of Napa Valley and The Napa Land Trust.

The Bel Canto Scholarship is a scholarship/internship open to Napa County high school seniors, who are interested in pursuing a music education. While we emphasize students of voice, students of piano accompaniment, choral conducting and choral composition are also encouraged to apply.  More…

While much of Bel Canto’s repertoire is a cappella, we do enjoy offering an eclectic selection of music in each concert.

We are very fortunate to draw on talented musicians from the Bay Area for accompaniment when required for major works of Bach, Mozart, or Handel, lively Traditional Spirituals or modern pieces from contemporary composers.

We not only enjoy these collaborations, but take pride in creating opportunities to financially support talented musicians.
